Wondering How To Remove Your Paper-backed Tiles?

I've had a few enquiries as to how to get the tiles off the paper backing they are attached to, so I thought I'd post a quick run through.

Please note that it is important to remove the paper before use so you are adhering tiles directly on to your base. Using with the paper on will not guarantee the longevity of the adhesion of your tiles and you don't want to take that risk after all your efforts!

You simply need to soak the sheets and the tiles will fall off easily. Here's how I do it:

  1. Cut sheets down to fit into the largest bowl I have.
  2. Cover the tiles in very warm water and let soak for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Once all the tiles have come off the paper, drain and lay the tiles out on a towel to dry.
  4. Job done!

You may notice a film left on the tile surface from the glue, but that will be removed during the grouting and polishing process. No need to spend time and energy cleaning off before use.
